My name is Eric, and I have been a DJ in Upstate NY for over 18 years. Here’s the thing, I wasn’t always a good DJ. It took me several years to get there. Starting in Buffalo NY, I was offered a chance to DJ my cousins wedding. I was (and still am!) a music teacher, and just happened to be the guy with the most equipment. How hard could it be? Turns out, being a good musician isn’t enough to help MC a wedding, and I got to learn the hard way my first couple of events.
Almost two decades later, my clients now reap the benefits, and I am here for you! I took those early gigs to heart, and growth mindset is what I believe in: My equipment is always being upgraded, my skills are always being sharpened, my process is always becoming more streamlined. I went from a pair of bargain speakers and an iMac computer with free software, to top of the line equipment and back ups of everything to spare!
My background in music education has prepared me to be the MC you need with qualities like professionalism, musicianship, preparedness, high energy, and leadership. My experience in music sociology also gives me a super unique approach that you won’t find with most DJs. For example, did you know that most adults formulate their lifelong musical tastes from age 24, give or take 5 years? Or that the tempo of music can alter how fast people eat during dinner?
More people should say this about their job, but I LOVE mine. Being a wedding DJ is just TOO MUCH FUN! This isn’t just a business, this is a passion. You will see it in my set up, my music, and the way I’ll engage with you and your guests.
